If you had told me (I won’t mention how many!) years ago, when Lis and I were in college together, that we would be raising our children together staggered by a year apart, I would have said you are crazy! We were too busy country line dancing in the student center, or having a dance party in the center of our courtyard – raising our children together seemed like light years away. But then, just like that, when we weren’t looking, ours boys were here and they started growing up faster than we could catch our breaths! Today, Rylan, Colin, Jackson and Molly are the best of friends and just adore spending time together. I am grateful everyday that not only do I get to share my life with one of my best friends, but my kids get to experience that too. I am grateful.
Ever since I can remember talking about kids with Lis, she always said she wanted three. I always said she was crazy. When she came over last fall and told me the exciting news, I knew in my heart it was exactly what she had been dreaming for and I couldn’t have been more excited. I tried to warn her, however, the girl thing…. yeah, its REAL different than that boy thing… brace yourself. When I showed up to take some newborn photographs of this sweet little girl, it was clear by the decor and clothing in her room, in just 14 days, Lis understood just how different it was! Welcome to the world of pink and purple, ladybugs and butterflies, tiara’s and high heels. After all the camouflage gear you have been surrounded by, you deserve all the girlie-ness she has brought already! I’m so grateful our boys get to grow up together, and now those little lady’s have each other too!
I am so blessed to have you in my life, Lis. You are and always will be a forever friend. Thank you for sharing your beautiful family with me.
Much Love,
Keri
